Hawaii’s Homeless Problem

These are my thoughts on a post I wrote over a year ago about Hawaii’s policy towards its homeless. As with a lot of things featured on this blog the information I get is second hand I am not physically there to know about the complexities and the hidden politics involved. Most of the comments I got were generally about the idea of moving homeless people. However in the last few months some have said I am an idiot for saying Hawaii is going about the wrong way. What I have learned from the comments is that :

1. Hawaiians don’t think of themselves as Americans and call it the mainland.

2. You are assumed to be an idiot because you don’t live there.

I was about to begin this post with an apology to Hawaii and to the readers of the blog regarding my previous posts. Truth is, I do not apologise. I say what I say as truth at that point in time. It may have errors it may be wrong, it may be offensive but it was something I believed in at that point in time. People change, opinions change. However I do still think that Hawaii isn’t doing this in the most friendliest way and evidence can be seen in cities across the world especially here in London where governments try to deal with the homeless by shipping them out wholesale. And no matter what way you justify it, it still looks like sweeping it under the rug.

Hey Robyn thank you, i think it is important we all share our truths and stay true to what we believe in.

I totally agree that the world is big and beautiful and can be ugly, that’s my philosophy that.. even though the world can suck we accept that the suckiness will come and then we choose to overcome it.

Homless, wonderer,gypsi,outcast so….many names. First they should make it against the law for any nation(s),countries or states to fly their problems to another nation,country or state. Second by law the hawaiian islands isn’t really a part or state of the united states. One of those political loops pls by all means look into it if u want to, its true. P.po are flown to avoid freezing,starving but mostly jst to remove the problem and make it somone elses. On the news, in da streets and beaches I c p.po from new york and from all over the mainland. Most of the locals who are homlesshave families and homes to return to, but they choose to live that way. May it b by choice,drugs, alcohol,abuse lack of somthing or too much damage of another.nonethe less it comes down to a choice but remove the ones whom where flown here and we in hawaii will only have our own to deal with. Atleast it would help reduce the amount at a reasonable rate. This is not about race,color or what may u this is about other govnmnts sending their homless problems for us to deal with. That’s like telling ur kids to go and live with ur brother that has 10 kids of his own cus u can’t deal with ur own problems at in ur own home. I don’t have a solution for our homless problems but pls help us by dealing with ur ownand not send ur problems our way cause as u can c we got enough to deal with.
